Find my starting point

For women in
perimenopause and menopause

You want to get back in shape.

But you are no longer sure where to begin in a way that might actually last this time.

You want to lose weight, feel better in your body, and start moving again.

Début helps you find a starting point that fits your real life, then build from there.

Find my starting point

About 2 minutes.

Début.

Début is the name of the method.

The Début Method is designed to help women find where to start, keep going, and build from there.

What if willpower is not the real problem?

Maybe you have tried more than once.

You begin feeling motivated. You try to walk more, work out, and be more consistent.

Then one week gets too full. You miss a few days. You stop. And once again, you have to find the energy to start over.

After a while, it is easy to decide that you simply lack discipline.

Début starts from a different idea:

You may not need to push yourself harder. You may need to begin somewhere you can realistically return to.

Not a smaller ambition.

A better starting point.

Your goal can still be big.

You may want to lose weight. Get your energy back. Walk for an hour. Run. Hike. Return to the gym. Become stronger.

Début does not ask you to make those goals smaller.

It simply separates two things:

where you want to go, and where it makes sense to begin today.

Début does not lower the ambition. It changes the way you build toward it.

Your starting point should fit you.

Début looks at three realities.

YOUR LIFE

How much room can movement realistically take up right now?

YOUR MIND

What are you genuinely ready to take on today?

YOUR BODY

What feels physically accessible right now?

From there, you find your right amount: enough movement to feel doable, and enough to matter to you.

For one woman, that may be 10 minutes. For another, it may be much more. When I began, it was a one-hour walk.

The point is not to start small. It is to start in the right place for you.

Then something can begin to change.

You do what you planned.

Then you do it again.

Those successes become evidence: I can do this.

Over time, your confidence may grow. And when you feel more capable, more possibilities can begin to feel within reach.

Walk longer. Try a hike. Return to a sport. Run. Ride a bike.

Discover strength.

Your starting point is not your destination. It is where new possibilities can begin to open.

My story

That is what happened to me.

Today, at almost 50, I still walk and I work out at the gym four times a week.

Early in perimenopause, I had gained around 40 pounds.

I wanted to lose weight and get back in shape. I had tried before. And stopped.

I looked at active women and thought they had something I did not: willpower.

Then I started walking.

I had not planned that destination. What intrigued me was that, this time, I had kept going.

I am an investigator by profession, so I turned to research on behavior change and physical activity to understand why.

Début grew from that question.

One method. Two ways to begin.
